Workspace Studies
Decisions,
not design theatre.
A growing library of concept studies exploring how zoning, circulation, product decisions and selective upgrades can change the logic of a workspace.
Selected studies
Start with the problem. Show the decision.
Each study focuses on a small number of spatial decisions rather than presenting a finished image without context.
Compact Team Workspace
Protecting Focus from Movement
A study exploring how workstation placement and circulation can be reorganized so primary movement does not dominate focused work areas.
Client-Facing Workspace
Support Without Spatial Clutter
Exploring how shared storage, visitor functions and everyday support products can be grouped without taking over the workspace.
Ready Office
Space Before Products
A study of how desk, seating, lighting and storage choices can follow a spatial decision instead of leading it.
Existing Workspace
Keep + Refine + Upgrade
A non-invasive study examining which existing elements can remain and where selective surface, lighting or product changes may add design value.
How to read a study
The reasoning is part of the work.
Formvate studies are structured around the sequence of decisions rather than visual transformation alone.
Identify the problem
What is unclear, conflicting or unsupported in the existing workspace?
Establish spatial logic
Define zoning, movement and relationships before styling or product selection.
Develop the direction
Add visual, product or upgrade layers according to the depth of the study.
Explain what changed
Show the design decision clearly without claiming outcomes the study cannot verify.
Before + after
Comparisons should compare the same space.
Formvate will use Before / Proposed Design or Before / After comparisons when both visuals relate to the same workspace and the relationship can be represented accurately.
During the concept portfolio phase, unrelated stock images are not presented as transformations.
This keeps the visual story clear without implying work, construction or client results that did not occur.
